Since I’m from Düsseldorf, a German city with a good bit of beer tradition, it’d be a sad year, if I was spending my afternoons drinking Miller Light. Being close to San Francisco, where they obviously have a good few breweries as well, I figured, I should start a little “A new week, a new beer”-thing.

How I pick the beer? By label. By the color of the label, maybe by the way the bottle is formed or anything else, I like from the way it looks.

Last week, we tried Downtown Brown, a dark beer made by Lost Coast Brewery. Check out the website. It is… different. But you can see, what awards this beer has won and how the brewery describes it.

For me: well, it’s ok, I liked it. I could not drink it every day, but for a change it was quiet good.
